Product Description
1K Pearl Colors Car Paint is a single-component (1K) automotive basecoat designed to provide a deep, shimmering, and iridescent finish. The "1K" indicates that it is a ready-to-use paint that dries by solvent evaporation and does not require a hardener (curing agent) to form a film, unlike 2K paints which chemically cure .
The "Pearl" effect is achieved by incorporating specialized pigments (often made from mica coated with titanium dioxide) that reflect and refract light, creating a unique color-shifting or sparkling appearance . It is typically used in a basecoat-clearcoat (two-coat) system, meaning the pearl color coat must be protected by a layer of clear lacquer (2K clear coat) to achieve final gloss and durability .
